At Grow Benzie, our volunteers give back to the community through the generous gift of their time, talent, and resources. Our organization was founded by community volunteers and volunteerism continues to be the foundation of our success.

Current Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Monday Morning Grounds Crew: Mondays, 9-11AM
Join us as the weather warms up and move outside to care for our four-acre campus. Volunteers will be expected to bring their own gloves and dress warmly, as spring time in Michigan continues to throw surprises our way.
Here's what's on our list for the end of April and moving into May:
Recovering flower beds around campus with cardboard and mulch
Planting summer blooming bulbs
Assisting with the Hoop House Revitalization to transform the Middle and North Houses into a Community Space
Community Drop-In Help: Wednesdays, 12-2PM
Lend a helping hand at Grow Benzie with small projects around the campus.
For the month of May, we're looking for volunteers to help us complete:
Deep Cleaning the Kitchen
Lending a helping hand in the FiberShed (a creative reuse center and Grow Benzie Partner Organization)
Supportive Resources
Grow Benzie values learning-by-doing. This hands-on approach provides volunteers with the necessary information, people, and materials needed to make a difference.

Recognition
Hours tracking and submission is strongly encouraged. In 2023, Grow Benzie is using the United Way of Northwest Michigan Volunteer Portal to manage volunteer sign-ups and hours tracking for individuals 13+. One-time volunteer opportunities are available on the United Way portal.
