Poncho/Pashmina Tunic Workshop

  • Grow Benzie 5885 FRANKFORT HWY BENZONIA United States (map)

WHO: The FiberShed is hosting a workshop run by Betty!

WHAT: Make a warm poncho from up-cycled blankets or a tunic from a Pashmina scarf. Your choice of project!

WHERE: The Fibershed at Grow Benzie (Lower Level), 5885 Frankfort Highway, Benzonia

WHY: Learn a new skill, see up-cycling at work, connect with others and have a fun-filled time!

COST: $10 class // Materials additional (see below)

For ponchos: Bring a blanket if you have one that you would like to use for your project. Wool is best as it will not fray; however, other materials will work too. You can usually get 2 ponchos out of one blanket. Some holes or stains are ok as they can be fun to embellish! The important thing is that the blanket or other material be washed. Materials may be purchased for approximately $10-$35.

For Tunics: Please bring a Pashmina or other similar scarf. Materials available for approximately $0-$15.

For BOTH: Bring some old jewelry, buttons, etc for embellishments if you like.

OTHER DETAILS: Class size is limited. Registration is REQUIRED! Please register by replying to: fibershed@growbenzie.org  with your name, phone number (in case we need to contact you with any changes), and which session you are interested in to ensure your spot and help us plan. Scholarships available. 231 882-9510
