WHAT?
Grow Benzie hosts potlucks throughout the winter and spring including workshops, presentations, and current topical conversations led by individuals or organizations.
This evening we'll be sharing seeds and stories while we discuss how to build a stronger and more sustainable seed community. We'll discuss the importance of genetic diversity, regional adaptability and our seed library right here at Grow Benzie. Bring a dish to pass for the potluck and any seeds you might have to exchange with others or to donate to our seed library.
WHY?
Seed saving is economical, practical, and builds resilience in our local agriculture community. Seed sharing builds community and diversifies seed distribution in our region. The Seed Guild promotes both practices, particularly related to heirlooms. Heirloom seeds are from a plant that has been passed from one generation to another, carefully grown and saved because it is considered valuable (flavor, productivity, hardiness or adaptability).
WHEN?
Tuesday, February 6th, 6pm
WHO?
Everyone is welcome. You don't need to bring seeds to attend.
HOW MUCH?
Free. Folks are encouraged to bring a dish to pass, but it is not required.
